Christmas lights in Kent

Christmas time is just around the corner, and Kent has many events and activities on offer to get you in the festive mood this winter.

The historical city of Canterbury is filled with Christmas activities to do this year. Their Christmas market opens on 11th November, which is a must-visit in Kent. From VR Lapland adventures and writing letters to Santa to all the food and drinks stalls, they have really planned a fun-filled market for everyone. And why not stay until the 12th to see all the Christmas lights to be switched on? At Bloom, we have many places to stay in and around Canterbury, no matter what you want. If you want somewhere for a romantic break for two, Plumcot Halt or The Linen House are perfect. If you want somewhere to dip in the pool, Honeywood Lodge is the place for you- the countryside views from the indoor pool are to die for!

Or why not head over to Maidstone on the 17th of November for their Christmas lights turn on and a look around the town? Visit their Christmas stalls on Fremlin Walk for some Christmas foods and drinks, and even some unique gift stalls for a bit of Christmas shopping. To make a weekend out of it, why not stay in one of our holiday homes around Maidstone? Little Seven Oaks is the perfect romantic getaway in the ideal location to explore Maidstone and other areas of Kent whilst still being in the quiet countryside, and the gorgeous green views remind you of that! Or if you want to stay with some family or a few friends, The Dairy is new to Bloom Stays and we know it won’t disappoint. It is the perfect, peaceful hideaway that is still close to everything, and not forgetting its stunning French-themed interior.

If you’re closer to the coast and want to get into the Christmas spirit, Folkestone will be turning its Christmas lights on on the 19th November. Plus, every weekend from then, they will have their Christmas market full of small businesses for unique Christmas gifts, sweet treats and even stalls for your furry friend. And of course, at Bloom Stays, we have the holiday homes sorted for Folkestone too. For a cosy break by the coast, Channel View is a stunning home with incredible views and a hot tub for the chilly winter evenings. Or if there’s a bigger group of you, Hockley House is a stunning large accommodation fit with a hot tub and just outside of Folkestone.
