Waltham is a pretty village on the North Downs surrounded by excellent walking and cycling countryside and just a short drive to Canterbury and only 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel. As such it is an excellent base for touring.

Equus Barn is a newly converted farm building with a sociable open plan living space two bedrooms and a bathroom. A ramp to the front door and the single storey building makes it ideal for people with restricted mobility.

Outside is a large gravelled courtyard where guests can sit and relax in the peaceful setting of the equine estate and watch the horses roaming in the paddock.

The owners welcome you to meet their friendly horses and enjoy the stable yard community which makes this accommodation so very different with the working stable yard across from the property within the estate. Should you be keen to don on the riding hat and look to enjoy a hack arrangements can be made at a nearby school please ask us for more details.

Equus Barn can be booked together with the adjacent Cavallo Barn offering group accommodation for up to 12 guests.
For larger groups please see Waltham Barns sleeping 10, The Homestead sleeping 17 or The Chestnuts sleeping 25.

Clean and peaceful 4.8/5

We had a lovely stay at Equus Barn. We were met by the owner and then left completely alone for the holiday but knowing where to go if we needed anything. The Barn itself was comfortable and very warm with everything we needed. There is a reasonable road to and from the Barn but the sat nav kept taking us down some very small lanes so beware and check your map! We visited lots of lovely places in Kent and the barn was a very good base. Would visit again.

Central Location 4.8/5

A comfortable accommodation, attractively decorated, friendly host. Located within easy driving distance of coastal and inland attractions. Local country lanes, a bit of a challenge if navigating using a road atlas. A Sat Nav would be beneficial, However, getting lost allowed us to see areas we probably would have missed. An enjoyable week with perfect weather.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation 5/5

Would highly recommend Equus Barn and Chaucer House. Really enjoyed my long stay at the Barn over the winter period into the spring. The owners are extremely welcoming, kind and just a pleasure to be around. The location is in one of the most beautiful parts of Kent. Horses, cats and the dog add an extra touch to the place, making it feel like home. Thank you for such a great stay!

Lovely palace to stay, with everything we needed. Our granddaughters loved Cici, the cats and horses. Also the park around the corner was a bonus! A great location to explore Kent. Would recommend and defiantly would come back. It is so peaceful and a stunning location. Thanks for being such hospitable hosts. P.s the bes are SO comfortable...better than our mattress at home.

We stayed here for 6 weeks whilst we had repairs done to our home. Pauline and Martin are lovely hosts, nothing was too much. The kids loved the gorgeous grounds and seeing the horses and cats. Lovely park for kids, 5 minute walk in Waltham - ask host for directions. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

What a fabulous weekend!! This is the most beautiful place and perfect for our bride to be. The cottage had everything you could think of and it is decorated beautifully. The setting with the horses was brilliant for our future Mrs Collins. The beds were amazing and we just loved it. You are so accommodating. A very own little 'centre parcs' in the countryside. Thank you so much!
