Things to do this summer holidays…


Schools out for Summer! So you may be wondering what you can get up to on your holidays in Kent. So, we have found some of the best things for you to do and see this summer with the family.

Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest

Bedgebury offers an incredible, scenic area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) with over 12000 specimen trees. It’s perfect for a family walk or a nice picnic where you can sit and take in the surroundings. They also offer many different trails that you can walk or cycle through, as well as play areas along the way for the kids to enjoy. Discover more:

Dreamland Margate

Head to Margate and visit the amazing Dreamland for a fun family day at one of the UK’s most loved amusement parks. There are many rides to enjoy, as well as lots of family friendly events throughout the summer holidays. Take a look here:

Maze Moon

Visit one of these maize mazes and get your problem solving brains on. Wonder around the maze and try to complete all the activities to work your way out (there’s even a prize draw to be entered if you complete all activities!).  Based in Rainham and Maidstone, they are an aMAZ-ing way to entertain all the family and get out enjoying the sunshine.  Take a look here:

Kent Life

Take a trip to Kent life, a fun filled day out for the family. Kent life is a farm with many different animals to see and interact with, including alpacas, donkeys, sheep and pigs. They also have plenty of activities on offer to keep the kids entertained all day, such as play areas, pedal tractors, farm rides and even cuddle corner with some of their smaller animals. Canterbury Historic River Tour

If you want to learn more about the historic city of Canterbury, get yourself on one of these guided tours. It is even more exciting than a normal tour, as these ones explore the city through the river. Find out more here:

Huckleberry Woods

Do something a bit different that the kids will love and visit this farm that is based around miniature animals! They have micro-pigs, miniature donkeys, teddy bear sheep and alpacas, and you can even book to take them for a walk around the farm. Get details here:

Riverhill Himalayan Gardens

Between 20th July and 4th September, these historic gardens just outside Sevenoaks will be providing lots of fun filled activities for the family. From treasure hunts to obstacle challenges, there will always be something for the kids to enjoy. Also can’t forget about their woodland trails, hedge maze and adventure playground too; so much to explore!
