What’s in the area

The historic Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, is a miniature steam train that adds a touch of nostalgia to the seaside experience that runs through the village and here you’ll also find an amusement park and great pubs and cafes. Further afield is the wildlife reserve of Port Lympne, Dover Castle and Dungeness which are all wonderful places of interest and easily accessible.

Enjoy a stroll, paddle, or a swim at the lovely Dymchurch Beach, visit the Martello Towers, or take a leisurely ride on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. The local pubs and restaurants – including the much-loved Hidden Treasure Micropub – also provide a great spot to relax and dine.

Alongside a day at the beach, kids will love the rides, arcades, and attractions at Dymchurch Amusement Park. Here, there’s something for all ages, with slower transport rides for the little ones, and thrilling twist and drop rides for bigger kids and teens.

At the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, you can enjoy a trip on the miniature railway along the coast – even travelling as far as Dungeness, should you wish.

Dymchurch is well-connected to several other towns on the Kent coastline, thanks to the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway that connects these picturesque locations. In the historic town of Hythe, you can visit the charming High Street, explore the lovely Brockhill Country Park, or enjoy water sports at the Hythe Bay, while the railway’s Romney Warren stop will place you close to the Nature Reserve.
