Blackham is a quaint village offering a tranquil stay amid grand historic castles, stately homes, and sprawling countryside. Within four miles of the village are the historic sites of Hever Castle (the childhood home of Anne Boleyn), Penshurst Place and Gardens, and Bolebroke Castle, all of which were regularly frequented by Henry VIII.

Additional highlights of the area include Chiddingstone Castle, Forest Way Country Park, and the stunning Ashdown Forest, while a touch of urban sophistication can be found in Royal Tunbridge Wells, a town filled with high-end retailers, excellent eateries, and pretty parks.

The countryside that surrounds the village provides a serene setting for a romantic getaway, with plenty for couples to see and do. Here, couples can enjoy a romantic walk through the picturesque Ashdown Forest, relax at a local pub, or head into Tunbridge Wells for a meal before taking a stroll around the beautiful Calverley Grounds.

Known for its association with A.A. Milne’s beloved characters Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh, the village of Hartfield and nearby Ashdown Forest are wonderful places to stop by with children. Home to the real-life ‘Pooh Bridge’, Ashdown Forest still attracts visitors from all over who wish to play a game of Poohsticks on the bridge where the game originated.

The towns of Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, located a short drive away, also offer a variety of family-friendly activities.
