Holidays and staycations in Faversham are best spent exploring the town’s picturesque centre, where charming streets are lined with pubs, heritage sites, and a bustling arts scene. As a historic market town, Faversham continues to thrive today, with markets held on half of the days each week; depending on the day of their arrival, visitors may opt between stopping by the Charter Market, the Antiques & Vintage Market, or the Faversham Arts, Crafts, and Food Market.

Like the market, Faversham Creek remains one of the most popular attributes of the town and symbolises much of its character, charm, and heritage. A walk along the creek itself offers a scenic way to bookmark any day, however those who wish to experience the full vibrancy of the creek should visit Standard Quay, a wonderful spot for shopping and dining.

There are several activities available to families in Faversham, including the Faversham Miniature Railway, Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park, or the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre, which features interactive exhibits and trails designed specifically for children. The town’s parks and open spaces – including Perry Wood and Mount Ephraim Gardens – are also a great way for families to spend an afternoon.

In addition to the shopping and dining opportunities at Standard Quay and the Creek, many visitors to Faversham revel in the town’s proximity to the historic Shepherd Neame Brewery – the oldest in the country. Alongside the opportunity to try some of the brewery’s Kentish ales and speciality lagers, the brewery also hosts an award-winning guided tour, which teaches visitors about the ancient art of brewing over 80 minutes.
