If you’re looking for a seaside holiday check into Lark Rise, one of the largest plots on the famous dunes, designed by its owners to capture the relaxed ruggedness. This Camber holiday home on the beach sleeps six guests and comes with a handy outdoor shower, hot tub and a living area designed for rainy days when the British weather gives us no option but to keep the wetsuits hanging for another day.

 

What’s in the area

Besides from Camber Sands Beach, there are plenty of other attractions such as Camber Castle or head into the ancient town of Rye which is very close by, here you can explore the wonderful history and cobbled streets. Camber is renowned for its beautiful sandy beach, perfect for beach sports. Here, you’ll find several kite surfing schools, offering tuition and sessions for budding and experiences kite surfers alike. For the less adventurous in your party, there are also paddleboards available to hire and SUP classes available, otherwise the soft sands make for a popular sunbathing destination, setting for beach games or a swimming spot – all of which are ideal activities for a family day out.

For a dash of local history, pay a visit to Camber Castle, a Tudor fortification built in the centre of a nature reserve, or venture out to Rye, a medieval town filled with half-timbered houses and the 600-year-old Mermaid Inn.

Nearby attractions include the historic town of Rye, with its quaint shops, cobbled streets and medieval buildings, and the scenic Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which provides plentiful opportunities for bird-watching and scenic walks. In the opposite direction, the unique landscape of Dungeness may offer an unusual backdrop for a day out, but it’s one that leaves a huge impression – there’s little wonder the headland attracts so many artists and nature lovers.

Camber is also an excellent springboard for cycling the Cantii Way, a 145-mile loop through Kent’s rolling countryside, seaside towns and chalk cliffs, made easier with the help of a hired e-bike at the local cycle shop (pedal bikes also available).
