Lying at the very heard of Tunbridge Wells, the Pantiles is perhaps the town’s most celebrated area, hosting a wide variety of independent retailers and places for coffee, brunch, and cocktails (Charlotte’s on the Pantiles in particular comes highly recommended!).

Tunbridge Wells also has a vast array of cultural hotspots, including The Trinity Theatre – home to traditional plays, film screenings, community theatre, comedy and more – and The Forum, a live music venue where you may very well catch the Next Big Thing.

Where better to enhance a romantic getaway than with a visit to a fairytale castle? With turrets, a moat, and beautifully manicured gardens, Scotney Castle provides an idyllic backdrop for a stroll. There’s also Hever Castle, its 125 acres of glorious grounds infused with centuries of history.

Couples can also make the most of their stay in the ‘Wine Garden of England’ with a visit to one of the area’s award-winning vineyards, such as Balfour Winery or Chapel Down.

The former home and passion project of writer and poet Vita Sackville-West and husband Harold Nicolson, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens boasts a picturesque oasis to explore, along with magnificent views across the Kent countryside. Similarly, Hole Park in Rolvenden and the historic Penshurst Place are gorgeous spots to explore to take in the sights and smells of the area’s flora and fauna.

Tunbridge Wells offers a range of family-friendly activities. At The Amelia Scott cultural hub, you can explore interactive exhibits and activities that captivate both kids and adults. Featuring large play areas, scenic walking trails, and a boating lake, Dunorlan Park is also a great option for families, as is the Spa Valley Railway, where you can experience the charm of the Kent countryside.

Nearby, Bewl Water is packed with activities like paddleboarding, canoeing, cycling, and soft play, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
