Welcome to Bedgebury Oast, an iconic oast house with a slice of Kentish history, set within the Bedgebury Estate, where sweeping views open out across the rolling Kent countryside. Come together with family or friends to create memories in the most peaceful of settings, with a beautifully considered interior and plenty of space both inside and out.

Originally built for drying hops harvested across the picturesque Weald of Kent to produce traditional British beers, oast houses now make some of the most distinctive holiday homes for those seeking time away in a historic setting, and Bedgebury Oast is one of the finest examples.

Beautifully modernised and designed with a distinctly calming feel, the house retains much of its original charm and character from its hop-harvesting past. Inside, the five bedrooms are individually and thoughtfully decorated, making the most of the tall, conical roofline to create lofty ceilings, exposed beams, and a series of charmingly quirky corners.

The open-plan kitchen, with its range cooker and generous island, will bring everyone round it to gather in style, especially with the oak framed glass extension which opens up on summer days (and nights) so you can step out directly into the garden. The cosy lounge, with its warming log burner, feels indulgent and inviting, while the TV den ensures there is always a separate, uninterrupted space for toddler viewing or teenage gaming.

Spring and summer days are undoubtedly best spent in the extensive garden, taking in the outstanding views at a relaxed pace. Whether enjoying a G&T on the patio, sharing an al fresco lunch prepared by a local chef, or engaging in a touch of friendly competition with the lawn games and games room, the outdoor space lends itself beautifully to your every desire. Beyond the summer house and garden wall also lies an orchard of Kentish apple trees, and just a few steps further, direct access to the ancient Bedgebury Forest and Pinetum.

Bedgebury Oast offers easy access to walking, running, and cycling routes that open up the surrounding landscape in all seasons. It sits just a couple of miles from Goudhurst village, with its traditional pubs, famous duck pond, and far-reaching views across the High Weald. Apparently, you can see London (40 miles away) from the top of the church tower in summer, but why would you want to when you've got this glorious landscape opening up below and around you.
