The Old Post Office is a charming Grade II Listed holiday home with a wealth of period features, full of rustic charm with a contemporary feel. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, then this is the place for you!
Dating back to the 16th Century in parts, the house was formerly the village post office up until 1990 when it was adapted to form part of the main house. Recently it has been transformed into a beautiful holiday home offering comfortable relaxing bedrooms, and ample room for couples and small families. Enjoy the bubbling hot tub and mature gardens with views of the surrounding orchards whilst outside.
Why not enjoy some locally made cheese from Cheesemakers of Canterbury which can be purchased from their local premises only a 15-minute walk from the cottage. Or enjoy a glass of wine and bite to eat at the nearby pub — The Dove at Dargate — voted 'Best Pub of 2019' by Shepherd Neame (the local brewery which purchased the pub in 1884). You can also take a walk to the nearby Victory Woods, or Blean Woods. Further afield you can take in the delights of the Cathedral City of Canterbury, the historic town of Faversham or the seaside town of Whitstable, all within easy reach and offering great Kentish experiences.
Situated in a Conservation Area with a history of the farmland being used to produce fruit trees, the immediate land around the house has been replanted with fruit trees, which can be seen from the house and gardens. Prior to this the land was farmed for hops, and used by the local brewery, Shepherd Neame.
