Situated in the historic city walls of the charming city of Canterbury, Castle Cottage enjoys an excellent position on Castle Street, just a moment's walk from all that Canterbury has to offer.
Steeped in character, from beam ceilings to the exposed inglenook fireplace, Castle Cottage has been beautifully extended to create a generous open-plan kitchen and dining area – perfect for relaxed breakfasts with family and friends before a day of exploring the cobbled streets of the city.
In the warmer months, bi-fold doors open onto the spacious enclosed garden, creating a lovely spot for a pre-dinner drink or a quiet afternoon in the sun. It’s also ideal for children and welcomed four-legged friends who may enjoy a little extra room to stretch their legs.
A winding staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find a characterful bedroom overlooking the street below, along with a modern bathroom complete with a large rain shower. A second staircase then leads to another cosy bedroom tucked beneath the beamed eaves.
As for the location? It really does speak for itself. Set on a quiet street just moments from Canterbury’s shops, restaurants, and cafés, the cottage is also only a 5-minute walk from the nearest train station (Canterbury East), magnificent cathedral and river, where you can take a classic punting tour for an authentic Canterbury visit. But with both a welcoming café and an Italian restaurant just steps from the front door, staying in with a takeaway breakfast or supper can be just as tempting as heading out.
