One of four stylish cabins set within the grounds of McCann’s Brewery, this compact-yet-comfortable cabin offers your own tucked-away space among the hop fields and wildflower meadows, with good food, great beer, and open countryside all close at hand.

Inside, the layout is simple, and well suited to couples or friends seeking a relaxed break with a little extra flexibility. The open-plan living space includes a sofa bed, dining area, and everything needed for easy mornings and low-key evenings, while the separate double bedroom and en suite shower room make it feel that bit more settled for longer stays – or short breaks with a guest in tow.

Outside, French doors lead onto the deck, where your private hot tub takes in views across the meadow and surrounding fields. It’s the sort of place where plans can stay very loose: breakfast delivered to your door, a walk through the surrounding countryside, lunch or pizza at the Hop House, then back to the cabin before the evening cool sets in.

And if you’d like to make the most of the setting, brewery and hop tours are available on site, offering a closer look at the working farm and the landscape that shapes it. For an easy-going Kent weekend break with hot tub, Challenger is a comfortable, sociable base with just the right amount of escape.

Dog friendly 4.5/5

We stayed with our dog for two nights. Mccanns is perfectly located, Tenterden within easy reach. We use the tap room the one night, nice beer & pizza. Challenger is located beside the other other three units right next to the car park overlooking a small field. The unit has good facilities, covering most needs for a comfortable break. Some nice touches, complementary items including milk. Has a massive shower/wet room & seperate bedroom with open access to the lounge/kitchen area. I would say that the bedroom was narrow & could have been designed larger to take some of the shower space. Plenty of additions, blankets, extra pillows etc. The hot tub was excellent, unfortunately the use was limited due to the weather. I would say that to ensure hot tub use during rain etc the addition of a covered pergola would be a welcomed & would be easy to install onto the large deck area. Overall we had a nice stay & would return maybe in the summer months.

Overpriced but enjoyable 3/5

We stayed in the Challenger cabin, which was finished to a good standard—by holiday cabin standards, not the ritz. The location is “remote,” which is a polite way of saying, “hope you like looking at trees.” Luckily, there’s a restaurant and bar on-site. The staff were warm and welcoming. It’s expensive for what you get. I wouldn’t rush back. But for a bit of enforced relaxation and the chance to finally remember what silence sounds like, it does the job.

Could not fault location and property but plumbing in bathroom let it down- could not be resolved -therefore not usable

Lovely stay at Mccanns brewery 3.7/5

We had a lovely stay, it was great to have the brewery next door and have the lovely quiet views and the hot tub. Booking and check in was easy. Only things that could be improved: - bed was very hard, so wasn't a great nights sleep - lighting was either very harsh or too dim, so would be nice to have some lamps to make it feel cozy at night Thanks

5/5

We mainly used the cabin as a base for visiting Port Lympne and English Heritage sites for our 9 year anniversary, but it is such an amazing find! Peaceful, warm, and the hot tub was a very relaxing way to end both nights.

Perfect to relax and unwind 5/5

A perfect setting and accommodation for two. The Tap room onsite is a friendly restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere and staff. A short but yummy menu for breakfast and dinner. Privacy around the hut tub and decking area was good and there are plenty of walks around if you want to.
