For a classic seaside escape on the Kent coast, few places capture coastal charm quite like Broadstairs. With its beach huts, retro ice-cream parlours, independent boutiques, and excellent restaurants (plus no fewer than seven sandy bays and beaches to explore), it’s easy to see why the town was a favourite retreat of Charles Dickens.

Tucked just moments from Broadstairs High Street and less than a 10-minute walk from the golden sands of Viking Bay, Samphire Cottage enjoys an exceptional setting for exploring everything this much-loved seaside town has to offer. Sleeping up to three guests across two bedrooms, the welcoming coastal cottage is ideally suited to couples, small families, or friends seeking a relaxed base by the sea.

Inside, nautical touches and locally inspired artwork reflect the cottage's coastal surroundings, while comfortable furnishings create an easy, lived-in atmosphere that invites you to settle in and unwind. The open-plan sitting and dining room forms the heart of the home, with a wood burner for cooler evenings, a Smart TV and DVD player with a selection of films, and books and games for unhurried evenings in. A dining table for four sits alongside patio doors that open directly onto the courtyard garden.

The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering stays, while upstairs, two comfortable bedrooms provide flexible sleeping. Outside, the enclosed courtyard garden provides a quiet spot for morning coffee or an evening drink after a day on the coast, with a table and chairs for simple al fresco meals in warmer weather and soaking up more of that fresh seaside air.

Another lovely stay at Samphire Cottage 5/5

This was our second stay at Samphire and everything was perfect as far as we are concerned. Cleanliness excellent - which to us is the most important thing and we like the location - being near the station is so handy. Cottage is well equipped and we enjoy the proximity of the micro pubs and the beach. Happy memories and we would recommend.

A lovely stylish cottage in Broadstairs 5/5

An excellent cottage which was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Well placed for all public transport to enable a lot of days of exploration in an area that was new to us.

We will enjoyed our time here. The cottage feels like a lot of thought has been put into every last detail. We were out and about during the days but it was so lovely to come back to such a pleasant space in the evenings. Thank you for all of the helpful tourist information-we made full use of it!

The property is very convenient to the public transport and the Loop bus is amazing. The nightlights in the hallway were an excellent idea.

Excellent location and beautiful cottage 4.5/5

We loved this cottage and want to return at some stage. Very well located right next to bus routes and the station so you don't need a car to explore the local area. Little touches such as night lights give it that extra bits of thoughtfulness.

Lovely mini break over the bank holiday. Lucky with the weather. We enjoyed the comforts of the cottage, which was super clean and homely. We visited all around the local area , some journeys by the fabulous Loop bus. By car we went to Dover Castle, Deal Castle and Leeds Castle. We had a couple of super meals at Posillipo Broadstairs and highly recommend it. Great stay thank you!
