From cliff flanked sands to picturesque bays, Broadstairs has to offer some of the best beaches on the Kent coast, each with their own distinct attractions; whether you want to try your hand at surfing at Joss Bay, take in the colourful beach huts and children’s rides at Viking Bay or walk from Botany Bay all the way to creative Margate.
A truly quintessential seaside town, brimming with charm, from retro ice cream parlours to boutique shops and galleries, alongside excellent restaurants and tasty cafés, it’s not hard to see why this was one of Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday spots. With direct train routes to London in less than an hour and a half, with the station minutes’ walk from Samphire Cottage, the capital can easily be explored, or departed should a weekend on the coast be calling.
