Set in the Kent countryside just outside of Canterbury, this converted home offers guests the best of both worlds: a peaceful rural setting, with good proximity to one of Kent’s most historic cities. Beautifully presented and with plenty of space for welcoming larger groups, The Canterbury Barn makes for a wonderful setting for family gatherings, celebrations, and get-togethers where everyone's invited.
Traditional character fills the generous living spaces, giving the property plenty of interest throughout. Original oak beams and soaring ceilings highlight the scale of the place, while large windows provide breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside – and of course not forgetting the hot tub – leaving little doubt you've arrived in tranquillity. There are more practical touches, too: the remarkably well-equipped kitchen, the dining table that seats everyone, and the inclusion of board games and hairdryers – so you can leave yours at home. While planning a group trip can be stressful, you can at least rest assured your time here won't be.
While there are plenty of spots to relax and spend some time in around the home, it would be a shame not to explore Canterbury’s historic centre – especially since it's just a 20-minute walk away. You can easily spend a day here, whether it's visiting the cathedral, going for a punt on the River Stour, doing some shopping, or stopping for a meal in one of the city’s many cafés, pubs or restaurants. The area beyond is equally rewarding to explore, too. Whitstable’s seaside charm, Faversham’s historic market streets, Kent’s vineyards and countless countryside walks are all within easy reach, while even London can be reached by high-speed rail for a day trip further afield.
