Perched high above Folkestone in the heart of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Old Toolshed is a spacious countryside hideaway made for slow mornings, starry nights, and switching off completely. Surrounded by rolling green fields, chalk hills, and with the coast nearby, this one bedroom lodge with a sumptuous king-size bed is ideal for a romantic getaway away for two. One well-behaved dog (perhaps keen on beer tasting?) will also find cosy accommodation here, for those who want their four-legged friend in tow.

Originally the surrounding farm’s working toolshed, this cosy lodge has been transformed into a space for two, with curated restored pieces, handcrafted details, and warm interiors. Outside, an additional touch of luxury awaits: a hot tub to unwind beneath the stars. Its vibrant interiors are inspired by the owners’ joie de vivre, with fabrics and textiles in colours and textures that bring life to the home with a great sense of fun. Those who want to share in that vibe can take a visit to the owners' nearby Folkestone bar, The Blind Pig, which is located in the town's buzzing Creative Quarter, and where the owners’ unique beer brews can be sampled along with some live music.

Beyond the hot tub and local pubs, guests can spend days exploring Folkestone’s vibrant Harbour Arm, packed with independent eateries and events – from outdoor cinema nights to summer fireworks. Venture further to Canterbury or the wild beauty of the Kent coast, or simply step outside and follow the Elham Valley Way, where sweeping chalk landscapes are set against views stretching towards the White Cliffs and Dungeness beyond.
