Tucked away down a peaceful country lane in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll find the utterly charming, Grade II listed ‘The Thatched Barn’. Immerse yourself in countryside living, throw on your walking boots or wellies and explore the miles of picturesque rolling countryside and walking routes on your doorstep, and even better two locally renowned country pubs; The Tiger Inn and The Five Bells are nearby.

Brimming with character, as if the thatch isn’t characterful enough, yet newly converted, step inside the impressively spacious, open-plan living area, and you’ll be instantly wowed by the beautiful, double height, vaulted beam ceiling above. Offering a wonderful amount of space for two (1000 sq ft), with a beautifully finished kitchen with black granite counter-tops, that has been fully equipped for you to freely cook; whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or a picnic for a jaunt in the countryside. After an evening G&T taking in the countryside air from the outdoor dining area or from the comfort of the sofa, retreat to the elegant, ensuite, King size bedroom for a restful nights sleep.

If exploring Kent further is on your agenda, The Thatched Barn is perfectly sandwiched between the coast; with the charming seaside town of Hythe only a 15-minute drive away, and the city; with the historic, cobbled streets of Canterbury just a few minutes further.

Beautiful Thatched Barn 5/5

Wow, the Thatched Barn was beautiful and such a fanstastic restoration, everything you could wish for is provided and is of very high standard and quality. Quiet location for excellent relaxation but easy access to motorway if needed. Restaurant/pub recommendations for evening meals were excellent, but remember to book.

A Beautiful Bolthole 5/5

What a beautiful place! The barn has been renovated to the highest standards and every detail has been thought of. Extremely comfortable sofas and beds, plenty of crockery and cooking appliances and of course the location meant it is very peaceful. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a base to explore the lovely surrounding areas.

We loved our stay at The Thatched Barn. 5/5

The weather wasn't great and we were on a babymoon, so lots of time spent indoors here, but it felt spacious and equally cosy. Really well equipped which is important for me and makes the stay a lot better! Bed and sofas comfortable, and lovely dining area. Quite a few spiders around the place, but probably to be expected in a barn conversion!

Absolutely fabulous! 5/5

The Thatched Barn is absolutely fabulous. As you walk through the door you are greeted with the Wow factor, the Barn has everything you need, it’s very spacious, it’s in a very quiet location and great for touring the local countryside and beaches. The owners, James and Claire are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend.

Perfect anniversary. 5/5

When we arrived our breath was taken away by how beautiful the Thatched Barn is. The renovation (see pictures in book on table) has been very well done and everything both inside and out is exquisite. Our overall impression was how stunning it is. We booked for our wedding anniversary and it had everything we needed and more. We highly recommend a meal in the Tiger Inn. It is well worth a visit.

Outstanding Property 5/5

A remarkable conversion of a thatched barn into a one bed two bathroom property, to a level well above our expectation. Everything is to a very high spec and to provide comfort, an ambiance for a very enjoyable stay. Appreciated the hamper after what was a long journey and so pleased that it is fully equipped with every thing required. Hope we have an opportunity to stay here again, we would struggle to find better.

Short stay in perfect Barn 5/5

Absolutely Stunning stay... Don't think about it, just book it. Perfect rural retreat. The Barn is beautiful and lovely touches throughout made for a home away from home experience. Lovely walks nearby too, which elevated the whole stay. Perfect to get away from it all location. Will be staying here soon.

Beautiful property 5/5

Wow, what a stay! The barn is beautiful throughout and so well equipped, the owners have clearly put a lot of thought into what to provide their guests. The welcome basket of essentials was a such a lovely touch and really set the tone for a great stay. The area is quiet and peaceful but only a short distance to a couple of really lovely country pubs. Would love to stay again!
