Tucked along a peaceful lane in the Kent Downs National Landscape, you'll find the utterly charming Thatched Barn – a characterful countryside stay for two. This beautifully converted Grade II listed barn is surrounded by rolling scenery, walking routes, and some of Kent’s loveliest villages, making it particularly well suited to holidaymakers seeking countryside walks, good local pubs, and somewhere comfortable to return to at the end of the day.
Inside, the barn feels impressively spacious, with around 1,000 sq ft to enjoy and a striking double-height vaulted ceiling that gives the open-plan living space real impact. Exposed beams add warmth and character, while the beautifully finished kitchen with black granite worktops is fully equipped for everything you fancy cooking – from slow breakfasts to supper after a day out, or even a picnic to take with you into the countryside.
With miles of footpaths and open landscape on the doorstep, days here can be as active or as relaxed as you like. Pull on your walking boots and head out across the surrounding countryside, or keep things closer to home with lunch or dinner at one of two much-loved local pubs nearby – The Tiger Inn and The Five Bells.
Meanwhile, back at the barn, the living area is made for comfortable evenings in, whether that means a drink by the outdoor dining area as the sun goes down or a quiet night on the sofa after a day of exploring. When it’s time to turn in, the elegant king-size bedroom with en suite offers a calm and restful space to end the day.
If exploring Kent further is on your agenda, you'll be happy to know The Thatched Barn is perfectly sandwiched between the coast and the city, with the beach at Hythe just a 15-minute drive away, and the historic city of Canterbury just a little further.
