Found down a peaceful country lane near the village of Ash, near Sandwich, this former agricultural barn sits in unspoilt countryside with easy access to the coast, historic Sandwich and its quay, and a wealth of local attractions. Two championship golf courses (Royal St George’s and Prince’s) are also close by.
The Willows has a characterful interior, with a cosy wood burner, a large sociable kitchen for memorable meals together, an enclosed courtyard garden with a luxurious hot tub, and a fully equipped games room. One of the bedrooms even features a free standing bath, adding a touch of contemporary, hotel-style indulgence.
Transformed into a beautiful holiday home, the barn retains much of its original character, with high beamed ceilings and exposed brickwork complemented by carefully chosen antique pieces.
Overlooking the courtyard through full-height glass doors, the sitting room is a lovely space to unwind – especially when you invite the outside in on warmer days. In winter, close them against the chill, light the wood burner, and settle in with a board game or favourite film. When night falls, four comfortable king-size bedrooms await.
The courtyard garden is fully enclosed and thoughtfully planted, creating a calm setting for relaxed afternoons. Beneath a wooden pergola, the al fresco dining area is ideal for barbecue suppers, with an outdoor sofa for lingering afterwards. Across the courtyard, the converted granary houses a fun games room with a vintage pool table for friendly competition, while the main barn remains peaceful and private.
With picturesque walking routes from the doorstep, it’s easy to enjoy the surrounding countryside – especially with a four-legged friend in tow. Historic Sandwich is just a five-minute drive away, while Wingham Wildlife Park and the more adventurous Whitemills Aqua Park are also nearby. The creative towns of Deal and Broadstairs, and the cobbled streets of Canterbury, are around 20 minutes by car, while the nearby golf clubs are also within easy reach.
