There is so much to see and do in this area of Kent. The nearby Royal Military Canal was built to defend England during the Napoleonic wars and is now a perfect place for a relaxing walk whilst spotting kingfishers and other water birds. Romney Marsh itself is a wonderful place for bird and wildlife spotting. RSPB at Dungeness, the oldest of their reserves is also a fantastic spot for ornithologists. For history lovers the Historic Lympne Castle is nearby, as well as Port Lympne Wildlife Reserve. There's no need to bring your own bikes as Channel Bike Hire will deliver to your accommodation free of charge - please ask for further details. For some retail therapy visit Hythe, one of the original Cinque Ports with its long high street of local shops, or for a day at the beach head to Dymchurch less than 4 miles away.
Overnight family stay 5/5
We had a fantastic stay, the room decor was fantastic and clean. The views and surroundings incredible. We will recommend and come back ourselves. We had the breakfast add on, the sausages, bacon and eggs were top quality. The only small constructive criticism that I can think of would be the bread, a nice crusty loaf or sour dough would take this to the next level.
